The combined tax rate for County and Town of Wheatfield is $16.23 per $1,000 plus $471.75 for sewer user fee and garbage pickup. Also add to that the School Tax in your district the Town of Wheatfield has 2 school districts. Wheatfield.ny.us has a tab called BIll Pay. You can look up your County tax bill and Water. Put your address in the box: Only street number and name. (do not add suffix; Rd, Drive, Lane etc) And it will access your bill that you can print out.

Both parties must be present to obtain the marriage license. What you need to bring: - Proper identification (driver's license, non-driver's ID or passport) - Birth Document (original or certified copy of baptismal or birth certificate in English with your parent's name included). - You will need to provide your social security number - Divorce Decrees from all previous marriages are required - Spousal Death Certificate (if applicable) The license must be obtained at least 24 hours prior to the service and is valid for 60 days. The cost is $40. We accept cash, check or credit card (Discover, Visa or MasterCard only). There is a 2.45% service charge to use a credit card starting at $1.75. Anyone applying for a Marriage License who is 16 or 17 years old should contact the Town Clerk's Office for further information.

If your permanent Handicap Parking Permit tag was issued in the Town of Wheatfield and expired within the past year, bring the expired blue hang tag to the Town Clerk's Office and we can issue you a new one. If you have moved to the Town of Wheatfield from another municipality and need to renew your Handicap Parking Permit, you can have them fax the Handicap Parking Permit Application to the Town Clerk's Office at (716) 694-6441

As of 2/28/2021, We can No LONGER accept Credit Card Payments over the phone. If you would like to pay by credit or debit card, you may come in Monday-Thursday 10a-3pm or fill out and sign the credit card form provided by the Court. A 2.99% service fee is applied to all card payments.
The Town Court handles Small Claims up to $3,000.00. Note that the person or entity you are filing the claim against must reside, or have an office for the transaction of business or regular employment within the Town of Wheatfield. It is the responsibility of the Plaintiff to determine if the Defendant resides within the Town. If you would like to file a Small Claim in Wheatfield Court, you must stop by the office between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday to fill out the necessary paperwork which the Court provides. Filing fee for claims from $0 to $1,000.00 is $10.00, and the fee for $1,001.00 to $3,000.00 is $15.00.
The Court does not provide the eviction papers. You can visit https://www.nycourts.gov/CourtHelp/Homes/evictions.shtml for helpful information. The eviction papers, along with the notarized Affidavit of Service, must be filed with the Court no later than the Thursday before the court date, together with the $20 filing fee.

A compliance inspection, with a $80 fee, is required before closing. Contact your attorney to make sure their office is handling that. It is the homeowner's responsibility to call the Water Department with their final meter reading and forwarding address at closing to close out their water account.
There is a minimum charge of $26.25 for each quarterly cycle.
