Billing
Billing is quarterly by district. The Town is divided into 3 districts.
Payments
If you choose not to mail your payment, it can be taken to the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall (2800 Church Rd.) or you can use the drop box located at the front entrance of Town Hall. Cash, check or money orders are accepted. The Town is not currently set up to accept credit card payments.
Compliance
Inspections are required for the sale and transfer of property within the Town of Wheatfield.
Water Meters
Electronic water meters are mandatory for all residential and commercial properties in the Town of Wheatfield.
Fire Hydrants
Per local law, homeowners are not permitted to plant anything within 5 feet of a fire hydrant this includes snow piling. The steamer cap on the front of each hydrant is color coded to identify the size of the water main supplying it – do not alter these steamer cap colors.
Landlord/Tenant
Required to have signed form for each tenant that wants billing in their own name. Landlord signature must be signed in office or notarized.
Electronic Waste
Effective April 1, 2011 E-waste can be dropped off Mon-Fri between 9am-4pm. Items accepted: computer equip., misc. electronics, TV sets. Not accepted: AC units, fluorescent bulbs, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, batteries, kitchen/personal appliances.
Summer Help
In May maintenance on outside grinder tanks and fire hydrants will be started.
